Steamboat Square got a visit from the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile today, did you see it?
“Your support made it possible to provide dynamic programming to the residents of Albany, and successfully implement a series of fitness programs, out-of-school activities and our inaugural Allympics event. Our department has already begun brainstorming and planning for next year, and plan to introduce more new programs in 2015. Again, I thank you for your support this past summer without it this would not have been a success. We look forward to your continued support in the future!” – Jonathan P. Jones, Commissioner, City of Albany, Department of Recreation.
Albany Housing Authority and Norstar Development USA were recognized with an honorable mention for the 2014 Historic Development that Best Demonstrates Financial Innovation for transforming the former St. Joseph’s Academy parochial school into affordable loft apartments for artists in Albany, NY.
The development team brought a variety of federal and state resources totaling $10.5 million, including Federal and state HTCs, federal low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs), bond financing and a grant.
“Placing [New York] state credits is difficult enough in a straight HTC deal. Combining LIHTCs as well had to be challenging, as there are only so many investors who will wade through complicated financing structures,” Panno said.
