Pastor David Traynham Receives FBI Directors Community Leadership Award
A message from Pastor David Traynham:
“Hello all:
Please find attached some of the pictures from last weeks trip to the FBI Directors Community Leadership Award Ceremony in Washington DC.
To say that I am honored to be selected as a representative of New York, being a recipient of the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award, is an understatement. I am overwhelmed with the grace that has been on my life.
Last week I was invited to Washington, DC to receive the FBI D.C.L. Award along with 55 other well-deserving recipients from around the nation.
Having my wife, Pastor Brenda; my daughters, Kantrell and Tyese; and my grandsons, Andre, Richard and Romario with me, made this a celebration I will remember the rest of my life.
Receiving this award is a reflection of the hard work that our region is engaged in. The community and law enforcement working together to make our region better.
I believe much has been done, but I would be ignorant to think that our work is done. The reality is our work is just beginning as there is much more to do.
I believe a frame work is in place and we can foster a better quality of living for all people as greater understanding and mutual cooperation will ensure that our sons and daughters will not have to live in fear and together we can and will change this generation.
My special thanks to those who encouraged me and those who helped take some of the financial pressure off the trip by investing in my life. I pray that you will prosper, be in health and that your souls will prosper.
God bless you all
Pastor David”

Warrior On Wheels Gets Donation From Uber!
Warrior on Wheels gets donation from Uber | NEWS10 ABC
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Uber drivers in the Capital Region are doing more than just getting you from point a to point b.
Project Jumpstart donates to local charities selected by Uber drivers in the community.
This may look like your average gym but it serves a very special clientele and now the founder is getting a little extra help from Uber
Drivers across the Capital Region were recently asked to nominate local charities to be part of the company’s new initiative Project Jumpstart.
One of those drivers is Jeff Looman.
“Then they had all the drivers vote on the charities that were selected and then Ned got it.”
He nominated his friend Ned Norton, the founder of Warriors on Wheels.
“It was a real surprise. I had no idea that they even nominate us.”
Warriors on Wheels is a non-profit strength and conditioning program for people with disabilities.
“The motto here has always been we don’t worry about what you can’t do we focus on what you can do.”
“We get a lot of work done, we do. But we have a lot of fun too.”
Norton works with people with various disabilities and has been running the program for three decades.
He says the $15,000 from Uber will go towards buying new bikes at the gym.
“You know we get little grants here or there. So to get a grant like that out of the blue was awesome.”
Uber will be giving donations like this one quarterly and released this statement:
“Thank you to Jeffrey for nominating Warriors on Wheels – Uber is proud to support this impactful organization.”
Looman says he couldn’t think of an organization more deserving than Warriors on Wheels.
“He works good with the people, he loves who he works with, he treats them good he’s funny. It’s just something he enjoys and it’s good to watch people like that.”
If you’d like to help Warriors on Wheels visit their website.

Albany Housing Authority Mourns the Death of Father James Lefebvre
Albany Housing Authority Mourns the Death of Father James Lefebvre
Lefebvre served as the Authority’s Board of Commissioners for more than 40 years
ALBANY, N.Y. – The Albany Housing Authority is deeply saddened by the passing of The Rev. James Lefebvre. Father Lefebvre served the City and the residents of Albany Housing Authority as a commissioner for more than 40 years. In that time, many commissioners and several executive directors looked to Father Lefebvre for guidance and leadership. He was a constant and steady force who spoke quietly but insightfully to bring order to the discussion of even the most complex and controversial issues; always keeping the best interests of the residents at the top of the conversation.
Lefebvre passed away Tuesday morning at a rehabilitation center in Albany. He was 83 years old.
“Father James was the constant, stabilizing voice on which the Authority could always depend,” said Steven T. Longo, executive director, Albany Housing Authority. “He was a mentor who supported me for 28 years in my position as executive director, and I’m sure many at the Authority can say the same. His impact on our organization, and this city, was immeasurable. His memory lives on in our mission to serve the residents of Albany.”
“I join our entire community in mourning the loss of Assistant Chief and Chaplain Father James Lefebvre,” said Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan. “Father Lefebvre was a devoted servant of this community for decades. As Mayor, I relied on his advice and counsel often, and am grateful for the strength and support he provided our community – especially during times of tragedy. I’m proud to have called Fr. Lefebvre a friend and I will miss him. I have directed flags at all City buildings be flown at half-staff in honor of Fr. Lefebvre’s life and service.”
Ordained to the Roman Catholic priesthood in 1959, Father Lefebvre was appointed Albany police chaplain in 1965 while residing at St. Joseph’s Parish in Albany. He was made honorary assistant police chief in 2014. Father Lefebvre also served for many years as priest at Historic St. Mary’s Church in Albany. He was appointed to the Albany County Ethics Commission in 2016, and was reappointed last month.
“Father was a friend, mentor, storyteller, and a part of the fabric that makes Albany a special place to live and work,” said Albany Housing Authority Board Chair Michael Whalen. “His impression will be felt for many years to come by those who were fortunate enough to come in contact with him. His humor, quick wit and smile will be missed.“
Father Lefebvre will be fondly remembered by the Albany Housing Authority for his commitment to serving the residents of this city, for whom he cared so deeply. He was a pillar of our community who residents, and especially our police officers, could look to as a spiritual leader and counselor. His passing is a tremendous loss for the City of Albany.
